Playtest with ArenaNet

Join the community that helps shape the player voice of ArenaNet.

At ArenaNet, we believe that players should be part of the game development process. Whether you're joining us from your own PC or visiting the ArenaNet Play Lab at our Bellevue studio, we invite you to join our playtesting community to share your voice and help us make games that you love.

How to Join

  1. Register for the project or projects you would like to playtest and share feedback on.
  2. Create and verify your FirstLook.gg account.
  3. Complete the playtest application survey linked on your playtester dashboard.
  4. Watch for an invitation. If you are selected as a playtester, we will reach out to you via email through FirstLook.gg to complete your enrollment.
  5. Read and agree to the terms of the playtesting agreement. Most playtesting activity is confidential and should not be shared with others.

Note: Playtesting with ArenaNet is a volunteer activity, and participants must be 18 years of age or older to register.

After applying, you'll be placed on our playtesting waitlist. While you wait, you may occasionally be invited to participate in surveys or other research activities. Keep an eye on your email and your FirstLook playtester dashboard.

Emails will be sent from notifications@mail.firstlook.gg.

What to Expect When Preparing for a Playtest

Remote/Online Sessions

You may be invited to join scheduled live sessions with other playtesters. Members of our Player Voice Team and development teams will often join these sessions to play alongside you and hear your feedback in real time.

Before each session, you'll receive:

  • Instructions for accessing the game build.
  • A dedicated voice and text discussion space.
  • Any additional details needed for the session.

We also run asynchronous playtests, where you can play specific content on your own schedule. These sessions will be accompanied by access to feedback tools to capture your thoughts as you play.

All remote playtests include a dedicated support and discussion space to ask questions, get help, and stay connected with the community.

In Person Playtests at the ArenaNet Play Lab

If you're local to Bellevue, Washington, you may be invited to join us on-site for gameplay sessions or in person focus groups with other playtesters and members of our development team.

For in person sessions, we'll send:

  • Directions to the ArenaNet Play Lab.
  • Arrival instructions.
  • Any required materials or preparation.

Light refreshments and free parking are provided for all in person events.

Player voice begins with you.
